If there is one thing that the Pakistani entertainment industry is known for, it has to be for its drama serials. While our films may still be in their infancy, our television industry has rapidly grown and has produced some hit serials that are not just loved by us but are appreciated across the border.

Remember the time our neighboring India was all praise for the hit drama Humsafar starring Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan. The two stars can definitely credit their international popularity to the serial.

And now that we have time in our hands and nowhere to go, due to the coronavirus pandemic let’s re-watch some good old shows this summer.

This HUM TV hit-series first aired in November 2012. The drama serial was an adaptation of renowned novelist Umera Ahmed’s book by the same name. It has a total of 26 episodes and is now available on the online streaming site Netflix.

Sadkay Tumhare

Another Mahira Khan’s hit series, Sadkay Tumhare graced our television screens in late 2014. With a total of 27 episodes the show won much accolade for beautifully depicting a complicated love story between a village girl and her fiancé living in the city.

Starring Sana Javed and Feroze Khan in the lead roles, Khaani was released in the year 2017. It went on to become one of Pakistan’s critically acclaimed drama series. Thirty-one episodes and a gripping storyline, will keep you hooked to your laptop with this one.
