Here’s A List Of Everyone That Left And Some That Came Back!
2020 has been the year of strange, good, shocking happenings, with a few celebrity couples getting married or leaving the showbiz for religious reasons, the fans had seen it all. Recently a Pakistani actress Zainab Jamil announced that she is leaving the media industry for good because she wants to concentrate on her faith and wants to be closer to God and religion. This announcement came soon after Bollywood actress Sana Khan announced that she has quit the media industry and gotten married to a religious cleric in India. We thought to list down actors who left the industry because of religious purposes.
Junaid Jamshed was the leading vocalist of a very famous Pakistani pop music band called Vital Signs. In 2004, he left both, his engineering and music career, and started focusing on becoming a religious scholar. He continued learning under Moulana Tariq Jameel and eventually went ahead to do religious shows on television, in the urge to spread the knowledge he had gained. Jamshed suffered an unfortunate plane crash that took away his life in 2016.
Farhan Ali Agha
Farhan is a former model and actor; he acted in a lot of drama serials and in no time became the top actor of the era. Later he left showbiz to revisit religion and eventually started his own channel where he spoke to religious scholars and clerics for the world to see.
Former Pakistani singer, Najam Sheraz was ruling the music charts in early 2000. Later, he left singing and started appearing on a religious show. Najam Sheraz also recorded many naats and religious OSTs for ramzan shows.
Hamza Ali Abbasi
Hamza Ali Abbasi is another actor who reached success in a short time, he is popularly known for his character as Afzal in the drama serial Pyarey Afzal, and as Salahuddin in the drama serial Mann Mayal. Abbasi began his acting career in 2006 and left showbiz in 2018 after his movie Jawani Phir Nahi Ani. Abbasi took a lot of interest in politics and has recently met Prime Minister Imran Khan for a discussion on society, culture and education.
Humaima Malik’s brother and actor Feroz Khan is another one on our list, Feroz made his debut as a television actor in the 2014 television series, Chup Raho. He also made his Lollywood debut in Anjum Shahzad's film Zindagi Kitni Haseen Hai with Sajal Ali. He then went on to do multiple projects until he got married and had a son. Feroz officially announced quitting showbiz on his twitter after he went for Umrah but soon after rejoined the industry.
Ali Haider was the most famous singer of the 90’s. He also decided to say farewell to his music career and singing when his son was severely ill. His famous song Purani Jeans Aur Guitar is still famous and enjoyed by the youth till today.
However, now Haider is seen rarely and if ever its always for a religious show, or ramzan OSTs. He also released hisnaat album after quitting.
The Lollywood actress Noor Bukhari who starred in 44 Urdu Films and 20 Punjabi Films also eventually took her leave from the industry. After she got married and moved to Dubai, she cut all ties with the industry and is now currently working as a lifestyle Youtuber.
Veena Malik joined the film industry at a young age and went on to do her film debut in 2000 with Sajjad Gul'sTere Pyar Mein. Before that she was working as a model and T.V actress. She also featured in some Indian movies and popular Indian Show Bigg Boss, where she mingled with the glitz and glam of Bollywood.
Later Veena Malik hosted a show called “Astaghfaar With Veena Malik” and announced her official leave from the industry soon after. Veena got married and moved to Dubai with her husband and like Noor, she also tried her hand at vlogging for Youtube. Currently she is going through a messy divorce and fighting for her children’s custody.
