After Diriliş Ertuğrul, Here Is Another Turkish Drama The PM Wants You To Watch
Prime Minister Imran Khan wants Yunus Emre: Aşkin Yolculuğu to be aired in Pakistan next.
Back in 2019, when Prime Minister Imran Khan recommended a Turkish drama to watch during his speech, Pakistanis were quite confused.
How good is this show? And what is it about that our PM is recommending it while he addresses a gathering.
It was the Turkish drama Dirilis Ertugrul that PM Imran recommended. A Turkish historical fiction and adventure TV series released in 2014 that chronicles around the life of Ertugrul, the father of Osman I, who founded the Ottoman Empire.
Many in the country followed through the PM’s recommendation and binged-watched the show. Those who did not are currently watching it on PTV.
But perhaps, this is not the only Turkish drama the PM wants you to watch. According to Faisal Javed Khan, the PM has another recommendation for us – Yunus Emre: Aşkin Yolculuğu.
In a post on Twitter, the member of the senate wrote, “After @DirilisDizisi Ertugrul PM Imran Khan wants Yunus Emre يونس امره (Aşkin Yolculuğu) to be telecast in Pakistan. Yunus Emre (the Dervish) was an Islamic poet, a mystic & a poor villager. Story of a great Sufi wholly dedicated to ALLAH & searching...”
“....for unity. Yet another hit created by Mehmet Bozdag is a Journey of Transformation. Yunus Emre was well versed in mystical philosophy, [especially] that of the 13th-century poet and mystic Jalaluddin Rumi. [The] serial is a great example of a meticulous attention to detail work @trtworld,” he added.
Let's hope that PTV begins dubbing this show in Urdu soon because let's face it, watching it with subtitles would be such a drag. We know from experience.
