Ahad Raza Mir Announces The Delay In Production Of ‘Hamlet’
The production will begin next year!
Ahad Raza Mir- a theatre performer and artist announced on his Instagram account as his Shakespeare adapted drama ‘Hamlet’ with the Rose Theatre has been delayed. Most probably, the production will start next year once the pandemic gets over.
On Friday, Mir took his IG account to share the news with his fans who were desperately waiting for his play ‘Hamlet.’ Proclaiming the sad news the actor said, “To be or not to be? Unfortunately not this year! The Rose Theatre and I have decided to postpone our production of Hamlet. Its too bad, but we'll all meet soon enough to experience the magic of Shakespeare together.”
Giving a hint for the new date, Ahad wrote, “Thank you to all my fans for your patience and love. See you at the theater in 2021.”
Taking back in time, Ahad has worked as a theatre artist in Canada besides studying at the University of Calgary. Proving his mettle on his own, Ahad won the Betty Mitchell Award for an outstanding performance in theatre play last year which was announced by Canada-based Vertigo theatre.
Taking to twitter handle, the Vertigo theatre announced and congratulated Junior Mir for his brilliant performance in ‘Hamlet: A Ghost Story’. The post along with Ahad’s picture from the play read as; “Congratulations to Ahad Raza Mir for his Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Drama award! We were thrilled with this production of ‘Hamlet: A Ghost Story.’

The Yakeen Ka Safar actor considers theatre as his second home and Shakespeare’s plays are deep-rooted in him. Also, he is the first South-Asian actor to play the role in Canada professionally.
