The news of the passing away of the Bollywood dance guru Saroj Khan at the age of 71 in Mumbai was met with sadness by the celebrities.

Sharing a throwback picture from the sets of the hit movie Taal, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan paid tribute to her dance guru and captioned, “ALL my Love Always too, Saroj ji. May your Soul Rest in Peace. Much respected, admired and adored as our Dance Guru in our Film Industry...truly a Legend...Such a privilege to have had so many memorable experiences dancing under your guidance...THANK YOU for All your Duas and Blessings always... and so much LOVE. You will truly be missed. Prayers and much Strength to all your family.”

Saroj Khan’s career took off from 80’s where she choreographed hit numbers with leading ladies of Bollywood Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi.

The Nimbooda nimbooda choreographer was admitted to the hospital after complaining about breathlessness, it was speculated that she has contracted covid, but the tests came negative.

Saroj’s family has decided not to hold any prayer meet but her life celebration will held for her once the situation gets under controlled.

Saroj was a great admirer and fan of Aishwarya, as she titled her as ‘the best’. In an unearthed interview to a journalist Karan Thapar while filming the song ‘Nimbooda nimbooda’, the choreographer said, “her feet, her knees, everything was bruised, but she never complained.”

B-town actors condoled her death by sharing heartful posts, Madhuri Dixit wrote, "I'm devastated by the loss of my friend and guru, Saroj Khan. Will always be grateful for her work in helping me reach my full potential in dance. The world has lost an amazingly talented person. I will miss you. My sincere condolences to the family. #RIPSarojji"
