Singer Ali Zafar Wants The Government To Support Struggling Artists
Prominent Pakistani singer, composer, and actor, Ali Zafar on Thursday appealed to the President of Pakistan, Mr. Arif Alvi, through his Twitter account. The singer who has given us great bangers like 'Channo', 'Chal Dil Meray', 'Rockstar', and 'Rangeen' pledged to support struggling singers, performers, and technicians, who have felt the full brunt of the ongoing lockdown due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Ali Zafar took to his Twitter account and released a video where he said that the flailing entertainment industry of Pakistan, just like every other industry, has been affected a lot due to the global pandemic.
The singer appealed to the President on behalf of all the struggling artists in these testing times and said that as the gathering of crowds for events would come at a later stage when a vaccine has been developed, these artists would find it difficult to sustain in the long run.
Ali Zafar also pledged that his foundation, Ali Zafar Foundation, in collaboration with the Arts Council of Pakistan, would try their best to help the struggling artists and singers. He also said that the method of payment has been made easy through digitization. He said that through digital payments, the struggling artists would be helped without hurting their self-esteem.
Moreover, he congratulated the President on increasing the Artist Welfare Fund in the budget and requested the honorable President to immediately assimilate the fund.
