While travelling for film shootings, the 52-year-old actor has learnt how to cook many dishes. His visit to Thailand has made him learn many dishes. The Thai green curry tops his food chart. In a throwback interview, sharing Twinkle’s taste for his food, the actor said, “My wife loves it when I make her Italian pasta the ‘Kumar’ way.”
Upon asking the question who is a better chef? Twinkle or Akshay? He replied honestly, “Please don’t get me wrong...my wife is an incredibly talented woman, but she does not belong in the kitchen. I can cook because my life depended on it when I lived in Thailand. Either I learnt cooking or I learnt how it felt to starve. I chose cooking.”
For all those new chefs around, the starlet has shared his golden rule of thumb for cooking, “Follow no rules, make whatever you want, and whichever way you want. Throw in oodles of imagination and don’t hesitate to explore new flavors, and have fun with food.”
Akshay’s lady love has also shared in her recent interview about who is incharge of the kitchen amid lock down. “My husband and son cook. They enjoy cooking. They put on some music and come up with fabulous dishes. I am the one who is awful at cooking. I like to organise things, I order groceries, wash utensils. Cooking is not my cup of tea. Every household should divide up chores according to people's skill sets. Gender has nothing to do with it.”
Adding to it, the Badshah star considers two men of her house ‘a blessing’ during this lock down, she said, “It's a blessing. My son cooks, but I did not know he could cook so many things. Only during lockdown, I have discovered that he knows how to make rajmah and pizza from scratch. He can also make Tiramisu dessert. We have not ordered in food even for a day because we have our own two chefs in the kitchen! So I think that has been the silver lining."
