Ariana Grande Sets New Billboard Records
Her Latest Album Is Her Fifth No.1 Album!
Singer Ariana Grande not only made it to the billboard 200 chart no.1 album for the fifth time. She also registered her name music history.
Ariana’s latest song, Positions, topped the list of 200 songs! The set was released on Oct. 30 by Republic Records and launched with 174,000 equivalent album units in under a week.
Positions is Grande’s third No. 1 album in less than two years and three months which is the fastest achievement of three No. 1 proper studio albums by a woman in the music industry in a decade.
Grande first reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with her debut album, Yours Truly, which opened at No. 1 in 2013, followed by My Everything in 2014, Sweetener in 2018, Thank U, Next in 2019 and finally Positions Nov. 14, 2020, chart!
Merchandise/album bundles or concert ticket/album sale sums do not financially accumulate positions’ album sales, which summed up to of 42,000. It is just her song’s sheer power and great strategy to release the song and it’s video three hours after the Trump Biden debate for U.S elections 2020.
The political references of women in powerful places were hard to miss. In the past, Grande’s album sales, like many other artists’ albums, have benefitted from both sorts of offers. However, this time around Merchandise or album bundles and ticket, both didn’t count towards the song’s sales.
Grande’s three most recent No. 1s have all come within the last two years and two and-a-half months. That’s the fastest record of three No. 1s by a female artist in more than 10 years since Miley Cyrus accrued a trio of No. 1s.
