Body Of Glee Star Naya Rivera Recovered From Lake Piru
Naya Rivera Went Missing On Friday
The Naya Rivera saga comes to a heartbreaking end as the body of the former Glee star has been recovered from a California Lake called Lake Piru.
Shocking and heartbreaking news came out of California on Friday as Naya Rivera, aged 33, and best known for starring in six seasons of the hit Television series, Glee, was presumed drowned at a California lake called Lake Piru.
After an extensive search by the authorities, Naya Rivera's body was unfortunately not found earlier. Her son thankfully survived and was found floating on a boat, by an individual on another boat, who then immediately informed the authorities. The authorities began searching from air and with a dive team after finding her identification on the boat.
The late star's body has now been recovered. Her four-year-old son told investigators that his mother, whose body was found in a Southern California lake on Monday, boosted him back on to the deck of their rented boat before he looked back and saw her disappearing under the water.
Ventura County Sheriff Bill Ayub said:
"She must have mustered enough energy to get her son back on the boat, but not enough to save herself."
TMZ broke the news late Monday evening that a body which was recovered fro Lake Piru was that of the late Glee star, Naya Rivera:
Her body was being taken to a medical examiner's office for a full autopsy and confirmation of her identity from dental records, though no other missing persons have been reported at Lake Piru.
Naya Rivera earned a Screen Actors Guild Award (for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series in 2010) and a Grammy nomination (also shared with the rest of the Glee cast). She will always be loved and admired.
