BTS Named “Entertainer Of The Year” By The Times Magazine!
BTS Keeps Breaking Their Record And We Are Here For It!
Korean music band BTS is immensely popular and has garnered love, appreciation and praise in more ways than one, from the audience and the critics alike.
The Times magazine announced BTS as the winner of this year's “Entertainer of The Year” title this Thursday, as writer Raisa Bruner described them as "not just the biggest K-pop act on the charts. They’ve become the biggest band in the world."
The group, made up of members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook, spoke to the magazine about their success, including their millions of fans, more commonly known as the BTS' "ARMY."
“There are times when I’m still taken aback by all the unimaginable things that are happening. But I ask myself, 'Who’s going to do this, if not us?' " Suga said.
RM added, “We’re not sure if we’ve actually earned respect. But one thing for sure is that people feel like, OK, this is not just some kind of a syndrome, a phenomenon. These little boys from Korea are doing this.”
The group also spoke about the connection they have with their fans, even during the pandemic.
“I always wanted to become an artist that can provide comfort, relief and positive energy to people," J-Hope said. "That intent harmonized with the sincerity of our group and led us to who we are today.”
The group's latest album "BE," released after months of anticipation, in November. It features eight tracks, including "Dynamite," the first ever BTS song recorded entirely in English.
In August, RM said in an interview that creating the song while working on the album was "like destiny."
"Who would ever think of this pandemic?" he said. "No meeting, no karaoke, no concerts? Even no walking in the park. So we never expected this song would come fully in English. During the process of making our album … it just came to us."
This is one of the several achievements, honors and awards BTS has received this year and we have our eyes on them now!
