Chris Hemsworth’s ‘Extraction’ Sequel Is In The Works
The deal has been closed by Netflix and it is on the writing stage, according to the film’s writer.
Appearing on a Netflix original film for the first time, Hollywood actor Chris Hemsworth gave his fans an action packed experience with his movie Extraction that was released on April 24.
The action thriller went on to become Netflix biggest feature film ever.
In response to all the praise the movie was receiving, the Thor star took to his social media account and thanked his fans for their love and support. The 36-year-old also said that he would be “stoked” to be in the sequel.
"There's been a lot of talk and questions about sequels and prequels and all sorts of things," the actor said in the video posted to Instagram. "And all I can say is -- who knows? But with this amount of support, it's something I will be pretty stoked to jump back into," he added.
Not just Hemsworth, we would be pretty thrilled for a sequel too and seems like all our wishes have come true.
The writer of the movie, Joe Russo, has closed a deal with Netflix to write another instalment of the high action film. According to the Deadline, AGBO, the company run by Russo and his brother Anthony, are putting the pieces together.
“The deal is closed for me to write Extraction 2, and we are in the formative stages of what the story can be,” Russo told Deadline.
“We’re not committing yet to whether that story goes forward, or backward in time. We left a big loose ending that leaves question marks for the audience.”
The Deadline also reported that the AGBO are optimistic about Sam Hargrave returning as the director with Chris Hemsworth back as mercenary Tyler Rake. However, those deals would not be made by Netflix until the script is ready.
