‘End Of Our Story’: Neetu Singh Bids Farewell To Rishi Kapoor
Wife Neetu Singh shares a heartbreaking message for Bollywood legend Rishi Kapoor.
Bollywood icon Rishi Kapoor passed away on April 30 of cancer in Mumbai. The legend was loved by many and upon the news of his sudden demise, not just the Bollywood fraternity but Pakistani celebrities too mourned his loss.
As tributes are still pouring in for the actor with heartfelt notes, the most touching message comes from his wife Neetu Singh.
Singh posted a heartbreaking caption on Instagram along with a picture of the late actor.
“End of our story,” wrote Singh, who was married to the Kapoor & Sons actor for about 40 years. The two tied the knot in 1980.
The yesteryears actor was not only Kapoor’s life partner off-screen but had also worked with him in several movies. The two met on the sets of Zehreela Insaan in 1974 and fell in love.
They worked together as each other’s love interests movies, such as, in Amar Akbar Anthony, Khel Khel Mein, Do Dooni Chaar, among many others. Singh was only 21 years old and at the prime of her career when she married Kapoor.
In an interview she had given few years ago, the 61-year-old actor mentioned she wanted a simple life after marriage. “And then my husband told me to finish everything, so we could eventually start a family. It wasn't that women couldn't work [after marriage] but I was tired working for 15 years continuously. I wanted a simple life," said the actress.
The couple have two children together, daughter Riddhima and son Ranbir, who is also a Bollywood superstar.
Kapoor was diagnosed with cancer in 2018. Upon learning the news, Singh mentioned she was devastated. However, she stood by Kapoor throughout his treatment and was there to the end.
The couple were last seen on-screen together in Indian director Abhinav Kashap’s Besharam. The 2013 movie starred the two alongside their son Rabir as the lead.
