Fashion Flashback: Hareem Farooq’s Style Revolution

Hareem Farooq has been inspiring us with the roles she chooses to play on the big screen. She is probably the only female actor in Pakistan’s recent history, who nonchalantly took the role of a divorced woman right in the beginning of her career.

The actor entered the industry in 2012 and within three years of doing dramas and movies she starred in the movie Dobara Phir Se. In the 2015 movie which she also co-produced, Farooq played the role of a divorced woman in a country where divorce is still a taboo.

Since then Farooq has been not only been doing challenging roles, such as, playing a female don in the comedy-flick Parchi, she has also been producing movies and formed a global entertainment firm called IHA Entertainment with Arif Lakhani and Imran Raza Kazmi.

The company has gone on to become the first distribution firm in Saudi Arabia.

But Farooq’s career trajectory is not the only thing that has evolved and become stronger with age, even her style revolution has been remarkable.

In an entertainment industry that follows societal beauty standards of size zero or a thin-linear body frame, the 31-year-old’s curvy body sets her apart from many mainstream female actors.

Only gaining much recognition after her 2014 hit drama series Mausam, Farooq has become an image of body positivity as she walked red carpets and became show stoppers at many fashion shows.

From her sartorial choices being a miss to now being a hit, we look back at some of Hareem Farooq’s best style moments.
