Glee Performance of Naya Rivera Goes Viral After Her Death
Naya Rivera's Rendition of 'If I Die Young' Goes Viral
Shocking and heartbreaking news came out of California on Friday as Naya Rivera, aged 33, and best known for starring in six seasons of the hit Television series, Glee, was presumed drowned at a California lake called Lake Piru.
After an extensive search by the authorities, Naya Rivera has unfortunately still not been found. Her son thankfully survived and was found floating on a boat, by an individual on another boat, who then immediately informed the authorities. The authorities began searching from air and with a dive team after finding her identification on the boat.
Fans of Glee are remembering Naya Rivera the way she should have asked to be remembered. The singer-actress is best known for her portrayal of cheerleader Santana Lopez on the hit musical Television show, a role she originated in the 2009 pilot and continued to play until the series concluded its six-season run in 2015.
Her past performance of If I Die Young on Glee has gone viral as Glee fans remember the late actress. She sang the rendition of The Band Perry original back in 2013 in order to pay tribute to one of her late costars on the show, Cory Monteith, who accidentally overdosed that year.
It was Naya River's most memorable performances on the hit FOX series.
Officer Chris Dyer of the Ventura County Sheriff's Office said earlier:
"We're presuming that an accident happened, we're presuming that she drowned in the lake. There are no signs of foul play, no signs that anything went wrong, besides a tragic accident."
Naya Rivera earned a Screen Actors Guild Award (for outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series in 2010) and a Grammy nomination (also shared with the rest of the Glee cast). She will always be loved and admired.
