Happy Birthday Kajol! Kuch Kuch Hota Hai Superstar Turns 45
Kajol Celebrates Her Birthday Today
Kajol is a prominent Indian film actress who has starred in many chart-topping movies in Bollywood. She is the recipient of numerous accolades, including six Filmfare Awards, and alongside her aunt Nutan, she holds the record for most Best Actress wins at the ceremony, with five.
Kajol was awarded Padma Shri, by the Government of India in 2011, the fourth highest civilian honor of the country.
Kajol was born in a film family so it wasn't tough for her to enter the Bollywood industry. However, to make a name for herself, she needed to win over the hearts of Indians and she did just that with her exquisite acting.
Starting out with Bekhudi (1992), she's had a journey that's extraordinary, to say the least. And up until the last time she was seen on the big screen in Dilwale (2015), there's no denying that Kajol's stardom isn't going anywhere either.
We take a look at Kajol's best movies in her 25-year-long career:
A young man with a vendetta against a business tycoon seduces and kills his eldest daughter and then proceeds to his younger daughter but she begins to suspect her new lover's ulterior motive. Kajol scored her first major blockbuster with Baazigar. It was also the first time the iconic pairing of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol came together on the big screen.
A sweet blind girl Zooni (Kajol) meets a flirty Rehan (Amir Khan). She ignores her friends' warnings. It's her time to discover life. Is she making the right love choice? Fanaa brought Kajol and Amir Khan on the big screen together and it was a treat for the eyes. The film was a major success and fetched Kajol another Best Actress award.
3. My Name Is Khan:
An Indian Muslim man with Asperger's syndrome takes a challenge to speak to the President of the United States seriously and embarks on a cross-country journey. Shah Rukh Khan took all the limelight but Kajol had an important role in the film's success. For this film too, she won a Filmfare Best Actress award.
2. Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Ghum:
After marrying a poor woman, rich Rahul is disowned by his father and moves to London to build a new life. Years later, his now grown-up little brother Rohan embarks on a mission to bring Rahul back home and reunite the family again. The film was an instant blockbuster and the audience adored it. She won her third Filmfare Best Actress award for this one.
1. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai:
During their college years, Anjali was in love with her best-friend Rahul, but he had eyes only for Tina. Years later, Rahul and the now-deceased Tina's eight-year-old daughter attempts to reunite her father and Anjali. It was one of the biggest movies of Kajol's career. She won yet another Filmfare Best Actress award.
Another notable movie that deserves its own category is Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge that played at the Indian cinemas for decades.
We, at HNH Style, would like to wish Kajol a very happy birthday!
