Legendary Pakistani actor and director Khalid Ahmed added another wonderful achievement to his impressive list of accomplishments as he bagged home the Best Actor Award at the Harlem International Film Festival in New York. 

Khalid Ahmed won the award for his role in Sakina Samo's directorial debut feature film, Intezaar (Waiting). 

By winning such a prestigious award, Khalid Ahmed has made Pakistan proud on the international stage and shown the world how talented Pakistani actors and directors truly are. Khalid Ahmed has added another impressive accomplishment to his repertoire and knowing him, the actor is not going to rest on his laurels with this honor under his belt.

A very delighted and elated Sakina Samo took to Instagram and announced to the world that Khalid Ahmed has won the best actor award at the Harlem International Film Festival for her feature film, Intezaar. She said:

"Khalid Ahmed Sahb wins the Best Actor award for ‘ ‘Waiting’ at the Harlem International Film Festival in New York. I am delighted for him."

She added:

"It's the first international award to a Pakistani actor. Correct me if I’m wrong."

 Sakina Samo revealed last month that her feature film would premiere at the Harlem International Film Festival. She said:

"Our Intezaar (Waiting) will have its a world premiere at the Harlem International Film Festival in New York. See the link for all films being shown and how to watch online."

The Harlem International Film Festival was held from September 10 till September 13.

Intezaar revolves around the feelings and concept of 'longing for someone or something'. Starring Samina Ahmed, Khalid Ahmed, Kaif Ghaznavi, Adnan Jaffar, Raza Ali Abid amongst others, Intezaar is written by Bee Gul, who is known for her dramas such as Dar Si Jati Hai Sila. A teaser of Intezaar was released in February, and the movie was scheduled to release in March but it was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic and outbreak.

Khalid Ahmed currently teaches theatre at the National Academy of Performing Arts and this award is a testament to his hard work and dedication to the Pakistan entertainment industry.
