Bollywood superstar Sonam Kapoor turned 35-year-old today on June 9th, and with the ease in the lockdown in India, celebrated her birthday with her family in dad Anil Kapoor’s house in Mumbai.

The family after a two-month long lockdown was lifted in the country. On the occasion of her birthday, doting father Anil Kapoor turned to social media to post a heartwarming message for the starlet.

“To a daughter like no other, the perfect partner to @anandahuja, a star on screen and an icon with an unimitable style. She's my confidant, my joy, my pride, the most generous hearted soul I know, (the only person I am shit scared of) & now a bona fide master chef! Happy Birthday, @sonamkapoor! I’m so happy that you’re here with all of us today! Love You, Always!” wrote Anil.

The starlet was also wished by the Hindi film fraternity as many celebrities – from Kareena Kapoor Khan to Swara Bhaskar – turned to social media to share a memory with the Aisha actor. 2385

But as family and friends wish Sonam on her birthday, we take this time to remember three of best performances on the silver screen.

In this 2016 movie, Sonam played the role of the Indian flight attendant Neerja Bhanot who lost her life in the Pan Asian airline’s flight which was hijacked by terrorists. For her emotional and heart wrenching performance, Sonam was also awarded the coveted Padma Shri Award.

The 35-year-old played the role of a Muslim town girl Zoya who falls in love with a Hindu boy, but finds herself in a complicated love triangle that leads to riots between Muslims and Hindus in the town.

While Sonam’s role might not be the center of the story in 2018 movie Sanju, her performance as Ruby was remarkable.
