Popular BBC Drama Peaky Blinders To End Its Run
Peaky Blinders Is Very Popular In Pakistan!
Fans of the popular BBC series Peaky Blinders are in for some really sad news as it has been announced that the series is set to wrap up after its upcoming sixth season.
Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight has confirmed the hit BBC crime drama will conclude with a film following the show's final TV series.
Steven Knight said the upcoming sixth series would be the last but teased that "the story will continue in another form".
"My plan from the beginning was to end Peaky with a movie. This is what is going to happen."
The news was confirmed and it was revealed that the series had resumed production for the final season in the UK following strict COVID-19 protocol in place.
Pakistanis have a special bond with this hit series and its main character Thomas Shelby is emulated by young fans.
Steven Knight had previously planned for a seven-season run of the drama, which is set in post-World War One Birmingham.
"My ambition is to make it a story of a family between two wars," he said in 2018 ahead of season five. "I've wanted to end it with the first air raid siren in Birmingham in 1939. It'll take three more series to reach that point."
It now looks like the film might be replacing his plan for series seven.
According to sources, the decision to cut the series short might have come about due to a year-long delay in production caused by the pandemic. The upcoming season is now expected to air in late 2021, however, it could also be pushed to early 2022 if there are any further delays in production in light of the UK’s COVID crisis.
