Potterheads Rejoice: Daniel Radcliffe Is Doing A Harry Potter Reading

Harry Potter himself will be reading the Harry Potter to us this lockdown. Yes you read that right! Perhaps there is some good news amid all the scary news about the coronavirus pandemic.

According to a tweet posted by author J K Rowling’s official website Wizarding World, Daniel Radcliffe, the American actor who perfectly essayed the role of the wizard boy in all eight movies, will be reading chapter one of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

“Surprise! We've got a treat for you…From today, amazing friends of the Wizarding World are going to take turns reading Harry Potter book one. And to start us off with Chapter 1, we think you’ll agree we have the perfect narrator...️ #HarryPotterAtHome,” read the tweet.

But that is not all! Because Radcliffe is not the only one who would be reading to you and your kids. "Stephen Fry, David Beckham, Dakota Fanning, Claudia Kim, Noma Dumezweni, Eddie Redmayne and many more will lend their voices and passion to the effort," announced Spotify recently.

The international media services provider also mentioned that chapters would be released on the Wizarding World website every week, starting from now till the end of June.

The book readings are part of ‘Harry Potter at Home’ initiative that Rowling launched last month.

"Parents, teachers and carers working to keep children amused and interested while we're on lockdown might need a bit of magic," Rowling said at the time of the launch of the free online hub that will also provide articles and puzzles along with other things.

The novel series first instalment was originally published in 1997, followed by six more books. The Harry Potter series is the best-selling book in the history with over 500 copies sold worldwide.
