Sajal Ali Slams Fashion Critics
Sajal Ali Talks About Sustainable Fashion
Pakistani actress Sajal Ali was recently in Dubai for the Distinctive International Arab Festival Awards (DIAFA), where she added another feather to her cap as she she received an award for her contribution to film and Television by the Distinctive International Arab Festivals Awards (DIAFA).
DIAFA, which is held annually in Dubai, honours distinguished International and Arab figures for their annual achievements and contributions towards communities and societies betterment.
Taking to her Instagram, Sajal shared a clip of the event, showing her receiving the award.
“Assalamualaikum everyone, first of all I want to say that I am really honoured to be here with such amazing actors and amazing people. I really want to thank to all my fans for believing in me,” she concluded.
Ahad Raza’s wife Sajal Ali opted for a gorgeous black outfit for the event, which was held in person but was socially distanced due to Covid-19 pandemic. However, the news of her appearance took a rather strange turn when fashion critics saw what she wore to the event. A simple, black suit and hair tied in a bun. The fashion police graded her suit in the “never buy” pile.
Sajal Ali, took all the comments in a positive stride and spoke about sustainability in fashion and the importance of focusing on the right things. Sajal said that the suit was out of her own wardrobe, “I decided to wear something that I could wear again and again. This year has been strange for all of us and I’m increasingly feeling that we need to place less focus on material things, like clothes and start thinking about sustainability and prioritize what we consider important in our lives.”
We definitely think this ethos is necessary for the new world we are living in post Covid-19 and we Stan Sajal Ali for taking this step.
