Samar Khan is the first female cyclist who reached the base camp of K2 just on her bicycle. She holds the title of the first Pakistani woman to summit Mount Kilimanjaro and the Biafo Glaciers in the Karakoram Range on a bike. However, she often faced feud with journalists asking her to explain her expedition.

People going up to K2 often chooses to travel through the jeep to the base camp since it is a strenuous hike where the way is full of rocky trails on the high rise mountains. It becomes impossible for climbers to travel up there through jeep or bike; hence, people choose to trek to the destination. People also claim that the porter carrying the bicycle from Jola till K2 base camp, since it was never easy to go up there on a bike only.

The audio message was leaked where Samar Khan could be heard abusing the people of Gilgit Baltistan while she is furious about people not acknowledging her journey. On the voice note, she claims to reach K2 on a bicycle without the help of any porters carrying the bike. Later Samar Khan apologised publicly on her Twitter account for speaking against the people of Baltistan.
