Senate Human Rights Panel Clears Zindagi Tamasha For Screening
Zindagi Tamasha

Zindagi Tamasha is an upcoming Pakistani movie by Sarmad Khoosat. It is an intense drama movie that was set to release on January 24, 2020.

However, the film came under heavy criticism from certain sections of the society before it was even released. Pakistan's Central Film Censor Board asked the director of the film to approach the Council of Islamic Ideology for critically reviewing his film.

Zindagi Tamasha shows an intimate portrait of a family, who lives in Lahore. The film has encountered multiple efforts from certain sections of society to be completely banned.

However, the great news for everyone is that the Senate Standing Committee on Human Rights has approved the screening of Sarmad Khoosat's film. The good news was given by the PPP Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokar, who chairs the panel.

"We’ve found nothing wrong with it. The Censor board has our go-ahead to release post-COVID. Detail reasoning to follow later."

The news comes as welcome relief for the director of the film, Sarmad Khoosat, who had earlier, all but given up on the film ever getting released.

The film stars Arif Hassan, Eman Suleman, Samiya Mumtaz, and Ali Kureshi.

The censor boards in Punjab and Sindh had earlier announced banning the release of the movie after the Council of Islamic Ideology deemed it unfit for a big-screen release.

Eman Suleman could not contain her excitement at the wonderful news as she shared:
