You might know him from his recent critically acclaimed film, Durj, where he portrayed a cannibal, but Shamoon Abbasi has been around for a long time in the entertainment industry of Pakistan.

Shamoon Abbasi is a very talented and versatile Pakistani actor, director, and screenwriter. He is mainly cast in an antagonistic role and is very believable as a villain.

Shamoon Abbasi is also very hopeful of the younger generation getting into the field of media and entertainment and making a difference. In a casual discussion with him last year, Shamoon told us that he was approached by media sciences students of SZABIST for one of their final projects and he was absolutely stunned at the level of intricacy and quality that was being displayed by those students.

The talented actor is back after his Durj troubles. The film was subject to a lot of censor board bans and cuts and when it finally saw the light, mainstream cinemas didn't give it the time of day that it so richly deserved.

Instead of being heartbroken, Shamoon Abbasi vowed to do unique and quality projects in the future as well. He has remained true to his word as he revealed that he is stepping into another unconventional project, a web series titled 'Akela'

Here's the trailer for the web series:
