Cher Expresses Her Gratitude Over The Freedom of Kaavan
The singer who got titled as ‘Goddess of Pop’ appreciated Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Imran Khan for his kindness as he releases the lonely elephant at the Islamabad zoo.
Cher is an animal rights campaigner and was active throughout the campaign of releasing ‘Kaavan, the lonely elephant.’
Actress cum singer posted a heartfelt note on Twitter for PM Imran Khan which said, “I was a big fan of you when you played cricket Imran Khan. I always thought you seemed so kind. Thank you so much for your help. This is a dream come true."
Meanwhile, she expressed her gratitude to the Federal Minister of Science and Technology, Mr. Fawad Chaudary and said, “I am so grateful for your understanding and support to FTW.”
Going back in time,1985, Kaavan arrived as a one-year-old elephant from Srilanka. Raised in Pakistan, but held in chains in 2002 due to the violent and inappropriate tendencies after his mate's death in 2002.
A petition which got 200,000 million signatures set him free.
Earlier, after the court ordered to release the elephant, Cher acknowledged and appreciated Government of Pakistan’s efforts for this campaign.

According to the court orders, “The pain and suffering of Kaavan must come to an end by relocating him to an appropriate elephant sanctuary, in or outside the country."
Cher who invested many years on Kaavan’s plight, delightedly tweeted and said, “it’s so emotional for us that I have to sit Down”.
