The sudden demise of Hindi-film industry’s promising actor Sushant Singh Rajput has left the Bollywood entertainment industry as well as the actor’s fans and followers in complete shock. The 34-year-old died by suicide in his Mumbai home on June 14 and according to reports was suffering from depression.
Upon the news of his death, celebrities not just in India but Pakistan too are urging people to be kind to everyone around them and to take mental health and illnesses seriously. Mental health is still considered a taboo, despite the fact that a significant number of both India and Pakistan’s population suffer from mental illnesses, such as, anxiety and depression.
The Raabta actor began his career in India’s entertainment industry on the small screen with hit drama series Pavitra Rishta and made his Bollywood debut in the year 2013 with critically acclaimed movie Kai Po Che.

The actor’s 2015 movie saw him meticulously essay the role of Detective Byomkesh Bakshy. The movie received critical acclaim and went on to make around INR 350 crore in box office.
M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story (2016)
Playing the role of Indian cricket team’s former captain Mahinder Singh Dhoni in this biographical sports film, Sushant acting prowess made waves across borders. The movie went on to become the third Bollywood film of 2016 to debut above $1 million internationally.
A thought-provoking movie about importance of mental health is ironically Sushant’s last movie that was released last year. The actor played the role of a middle-age man trying to give hope to his teenaged son who tries to die by suicide but fortunately survives.
