Famed Pakistani Celebrity Singer Atif Aslam’s song has been taken down by T-series from its YouTube Channel after receiving threats and backlash. The music label company faced a major backlash on Wednesday by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) and All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) as they have put a ban on promoting Pakistani content.

The issue was brought into notice of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena. A tweet from MNS Cinema Wing President came in front which said, “WARNING TO T-SERIES. Takedown Pakistani singer Atif-Aslam song from your T-Series youtube channel immediately else we will take major action against T-Series.”

Later, The Indian Express published statement  from T-series which read, “It has been brought to our notice that the said song has been sung by Atif Aslam and this song was put up on the YouTube channel of T-Series by one of our employees from the promotion team. He was unaware of his action and erred while putting up the song.”

The statement further apologized for the act and said, “We condemn our mistake and apologise for the same. We assure you that henceforth we will neither release, nor promote the song on any platform of T-Series. Meanwhile, we are removing the said song from our YouTube channel.”

For the future, T-series committed that they will not promote any Pakistani artist. It said, “We also assure you that henceforth we will not be releasing or promoting work by any Pakistani artistes.”

Atif Aslam’s version was composed by Meet Bros which featured in the movie Marjavaan starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tara Sutaria.
