The Re-Broadcast Of Diyar E Dil Saddens Mikaal Zulfiqar Without Any Compensation To The Cast
The famous Pakistani drama Diyar Dil was released by the Indian streaming website Zee Five in December last year and was well-received.
Drama serial Diyar-e-Dil was highly acclaimed in Pakistan and India, and the fans were pleased to see it re-broadcast recently.
Diyar-e-Dil was initially aired on Hum TV in early 2015 and continued till the end of the year. It was highly acclaimed for its story, cast, screenplay, and unique drama in many respects. The play's story revolves around Agha Jaan's family (Abid Ali), who, as a chief and a father, is a man whose love and compassion demands obedience from his children.
In the play, he describes himself as a person who works from the heart instead of logic and wants his eldest son Behroz (Mikaal Zulfiqar) to marry his brother's daughter Arjumand (Hareem Farooq).
The play's story takes a new turn when Behrooz meets Rohina (Sanam Saeed), a simple girl from Lahore, and then refuses to follow his father's wishes.
The story of Diyar-e-Dil was written by Farhat Ishtiaq while directed by Haseeb Hassan and produced by Momina Duraid Productions.
The play's cast included Abid Ali, Sanam Saeed, Behroz Sabzwari, Maya Ali, Hareem Farooq, Mariyam Nafees, Usman Khalid Butt, and Ali Rehman Khan, among others.
While Pakistani artists and playwrights were happy when the popular drama was aired on Zee TV, actor Mikaal Zulfiqar was saddened that there was no financial benefit to the actors if the drama was re-broadcast.
Mikaal Zulfiqar shared a screenshot of the play on Instagram Story on March 17 and lamented that despite the re-run of Diyar Dil several times, people who made the play a success were not being benefited.
The actor clearly wrote that Diyar Dil has been aired on Zee Five several times, but the people who made the same drama a success did not receive any compensation or benefit.
Earlier in February, Mikaal Zulfiqar had said that if any popular drama of the past was re-broadcast, the drama team should also be compensated again.
At Mikaal Zulfiqar's request (about compensation on re-broadcasting), actor Yasir Hussain also supported him and said, thankfully, a senior actor came up with such an idea.
It is also worth mentioning here that in Pakistan, many dramas are re-broadcast on TV. However, actors and other team members are compensated only once.
