Three Milk Cake Recipe By Komal Rizvi
Three Milk Cake is the most popular dessert in the country right now and actor Komal Rizvi teaches us how to make it at home.
Amid the lockdown imposed by the government due to the coronavirus pandemic, actor and singer Komal Rizvi launched her very own YouTube channel titled ‘Komal’s Kitchen’ to share her love for cooking.
In an interview in a local publication, the songwriter mentioned that she had adored cooking since childhood and lockdown gave her the opportunity to reconnect with her love for cooking.
She started posting recipes on her Instagram page and received much appreciation with many followers asking for the recipes. The 38-year-old then decided to start her own channel.
During the interview, Rizvi mentioned that she completed a culinary arts diploma from London at the age of 21 and was also shortlisted for Masterchef US 2019.
“I was also selected for MasterChef USA 2019 as one of the 20 home chefs shortlisted but I couldn't do it because my green card was giving me some issues at the time so I had to withdraw literally one day before they started filming,” she said.
Each episode on Rizvi’s channel has exciting recipes for the viewers and episode seven features one of Pakistan’s most-loved desserts – the three milk cake.
In the video Rizvi mentions that the dessert originated from Mexico and is originally known as ‘Tres Leches’.
- Eggs (5, separated)
- Milk (1/3 cup)
- Sugar (¾ cup for Yolks)
- Sugar (¼ cup for egg whites)
- Flour (1 cup)
- Pinch of salt
- Vanilla (1 tsp)
- Baking powder ( 1 ½ tsp)
- Condensed milk (1 cup)
- Evaporated milk (1 ½ cups)
- Whipping cream (1/3 cup)
- Jam (3/4 cup)
Frosting: Whip together 200ml of whipping cream with two tablespoons of caster sugar.
