Trailer Review: Rubya Chaudhry’s Short-Film Bench Leaves Us Thinking About Our Life Choices
The short-film was recently shortlisted as one of the finalists in the Independent Shorts Awards in LA Festival.
Model-turned-actor Rubya Chaudhry’s short-film titled Bench released its trailer digitally last night and since then it has garnered much traction.
In the one-minute 46-second trailer we can see Chaudhry reflect upon her lice decisions as she walks through a park and sits on a bench, hoping to correct one of the bad decisions she had made in her life.
It makes the audience think of their own decisions and wonder if they too would be left alone like the lead actor of the short-film, sitting by herself on a bench.
The trailer is not only thought-provoking but also shows the 30-year-old actor in a new avatar, different from her glamorous style in fashion shows.
The man behind this intriguing short-film is none other than filmmaker and actor Usman Mukhtar, who is all set to make an entry in Mawra Hocane starrer Sabaat. The drama serial is currently being aired on HUM TV.
Releasing the trailer on his official YouTube channel, Mukhtar wrote “Very rarely is making the right choice easy (in life). This occasion is no exception either,” in its description. The trailer has crossed 6,000 views since its release.
The short-film was also sent to various film festivals and was shortlisted as one of the finalists in Independent Shorts Awards in LA. It will be released digitally soon.
The lead actor Rubya Chaudhry was last seen in 2013 Pakistani horror film Siyaah, starring alongside Hareem Farooq and Ahmed Ali Akbar.
