Vasay Chaudhry Dissed Tik Tok And Instagram Stars
Vasay Chaudhry Came Forward To Talk About Real Talent
The one-man army, Vasay Chaudhry who has many stars on his shoulders from acting, to writing to direction, has recently made a few comments that won’t be received well by the Tik Tok lot.
Winner of 5 ARY film Awards and nominee of 4 Lux Style Awards, Vasay Chaudhry was invited to speak on the Pakistani media industry and emerging talent at film producer Rafay Rashdi’s show. Lo and behold, Vasay left no page unturned and no word unspoken. He was asked how he perceives the talent emerging today, the importance of social media and the biggest platform that has been the latest sensation in the youth, Tik Tok.
Vasay was of the notion that true talent needs many years of struggle and polish, it needs to go through many phases of learning from the seniors and experiences. He thinks lip syncing on songs or dialogues or walking dramatically on a song can’t be termed or accepted as talent, one can be a pretty face or be famous on Instagram or TikTok but that doesn’t make him a good actor or true talent. Mazaaq Raat host Vasay Chaudhry made it a point that unless you are at theatre plays giving auditions after auditions or struggling through the staircase of stardom by channeling your energy in small projects and then making your way through these learning stops to reach big budget dramas or films, it can’t make you a star.
He also spoke about how the young generation is getting misguided into thinking that they are talented enough to survive in the industry, just because they have a huge following on their social media platforms. He says these kids already think they have reached somewhere and made their mark so all other things will be easy for them to attain, which often is their biggest mistake.
Vasay Chaudhry has been behind movies like Main Hoon Shahid Afridi, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 and other hit projects include Dolly Ki Ayegi Baraat, Taakay Ki Ayegi Baraat, Jackson Heights etc.
We can’t say we disagree with him because most certainly this profession needs focus, determination and more over the talent to last in the show business because someone better than you is always around the corner, who will fold your fame and bag the work you might get. Not taking away from Tik Tok stars, some of them are doing great with their content creation but is that enough to last for a lifetime in the audiences’ hearts and minds?
