What Happened Between Fahad Mustafa And Hum T.V?
Fahad Mustafa Talks About Content, Money And Creative Fulfillment
Actor, host and producer Fahad Mustafa recently opened up about his career and his hopes for the future of the entertainment industry. In an interview Na Maloom Afraad actor Fahad Mustafa spoke about the disconnection between web and television and how the audience of both differs completely.
Fahad also spoke about how important it is to keep television alive and entertain that audience since not everyone has the privilege or means to switch to a web service like Netflix that provides selective mass entertainment. Fahad also highlighted the importance of keeping the content real and getting some kind of creative satisfaction out of it. Talking about creative fulfillment, he remembered the time he resigned from Hum TV’s morning show Jagoo Pakistan.
The resignation wasn’t his first step, after almost 3 years of working as a morning show host, he couldn’t find any satisfaction in that work and started to skip days. After repeated warnings from Sultana Siddiqui, who heads the channel and its operations, he received a deducted salary, which made him furious. He then skipped 2 days every week and went on sets for 3 days instead of working for a full week.
Sometimes he used to over sleep and join the show mid way, while someone else took over for him. He admitted that he knew he’d be fired sooner than later and before he could reach that point, he himself resigned from the morning show.
Fahad Mustafa did mention that it wasn’t like he was out of work or unmotivated because he had already signed Jeeto Pakistan with ARY, while simultaneously working on his film Na Maloom Afraad and a serial for his own production house, he was packed with projects that he actually cared about. Fahad made it a point that for an entertainer, money is a motivation but so is being happy and excited about your work everyday, otherwise it gets unbearable.
Fahad Mustafa started his career in 2002 but was first noticed in 2008 and as luck would have it, he never looked back. He has been a part of some of the most famous dramas and films the country has produced including Yeh Zindagi Hai, Pul e Sirat, Main Abdul Qadir Hoon, Na Maloom Afraad, Actor in Law and Jawani phir nahi aani etc.
