What's The Deal About Paraben-Free Skincare
Revealing the lousy guy of skincare
Blindly buying beauty products and thinking they are suitable for skin no matter what is not an intelligent choice. No matter what, a product should have an accurate breakdown of ingredients so that the buyers can certainly know which products are better than others. It's the era where we're very aware of what we put inside our body by what we eat and similarly aware of what we apply to the skin. You really don't have to be as bright as a dermatologist to know the name. Paraben in skincare is a red flag, and you need to run away from it.
What Are Parabens
Parabens are actually preservatives that are used to increase the shelf life of products. It prevents the growth of bacteria and mould in the product. The products that contain parabens are indeed not tagged as "caution: parabens inside", but you have to look for ingredients such as methylparaben, propylparaben or butylparaben. Parabens manage to increase the life of products, but what else they do is penetrate into the tissues and stay there, causing harm to the body, sometimes ending in cancer too. The preservative is able to mimic oestrogen and disturb hormonal function. Too much oestrogen can end up in breast cancer too. Parabens are such a harmful product that is just not dangerous for the human body, but it could be alarming for the environment too; after we wash off the products through sewage systems, it's going into the marine and harms the mammals.
How Do We Get Rid Of Paraben, Then?
Many companies take the initiative to start "Greenwashing" their products. Greenwashing is a term which indicates that the product is parabens free. It's easy to understand the label of products and opt for a paraben-free option.
